There are two ways that you can apply for this visa. While visa-on-arrival facilities are available in Bangladesh, it is advisable to apply for a visa to enter Bangladesh prior to arrival. Singaporeans may apply for a visa online at https://www.visa.gov.bd/ and submit the printed copy of the completed application form with the required documents at the Bangladesh High Commission in Singapore. Passengers traveling to Bangladesh for business would be required to contact the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) to support the application.

Visa on Arrival at the Dhaka International Airport: 51 USD

Upon reaching the office, take a queue number for visa application and wait patiently for your turn.

There were 5 people in front of me, some were applying for a business visa but lacked the necessary documents or letter of invitation. I waited for about 40 minutes. All my documents were in order.

I paid the visa fee of $29 (NETS payment only) and received a slip of paper. The staff said that my visa will be ready for collection the following Monday. The office will keep your passport to process.

Receipt for collection of Bangladesh visa

The following Monday, I went down to collect my passport as stated on the slip of paper. Unfortunately, my visa had not been processed yet and the staff told me to come back at 4pm. If it is not so urgent, I can go back on Tuesday. Since I had something on in the afternoon, I went back on Tuesday around 12pm instead. It took about 5 minutes to get my passport back and it had a nice sticker pasted inside, allowing me entry into Bangladesh for 30 days. Overall quite an easy process to apply for the tourist visa and I get to fill up one page of my passport!

I’m so excited to check out Bangladesh now! If you wish to save some money and have the time to go down to the High Commission office, then I recommend you to get your tourist visa in Singapore first.
