Address: 12 Marina View, Asia Square Tower 2, 018961 Singapore
Nearest MRT: Downtown (Downtown line)

Westin Singapore is Singapore’s first integrated hotel that is located within an office building. It occupies levels 32 to 46 of Asia Square Tower 2 commercial development in Marina Bay, the heart of Singapore’s bustling financial district.

Located in vibrant Marina Bay, The Westin Singapore offers space for both business and pleasure in the heart of downtown. Its spacious guest rooms and suites offer a quiet retreat with sleep well amenities and views of Singapore’s cityscape and the Marina Bay area, while the versatile event venues are perfect for hosting productive meetings. Visit The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, take a stroll through Gardens by the Bay or explore Chinatown’s unique boutiques before returning to the hotel for a scrumptious dining experience.

There are four different dining venues available at Westin. Seasonal Tastes offers a wide selection of contemporary international and local flavors, with healthy food choices from the Eat Well menu. Settle in with a cocktail at the Lobby Lounge while you admire stunning views of Marina Bay. Immerse in stunning views of the city when you go for a swim at the outdoor infinity pool on level 35. Relax with a rejuvenating massage, treatments or facials at Heavenly® Spa, or maintain your fitness routine at the WestinWORKOUT Fitness Studio. With so many facilities and amenities, you are spoilt for choice during your stay here.

The check-in area was spacious and it was located on level 32.

Check in was a breeze, we had to stand in one line before going to one of the counters. Despite having done online check-in, I still had to be manually attended by a staff, which made it inefficient. There was also no digital key to unlock the door through our handphones.

Since I had booked the room using the 12.12 promo, the receptioniste told me about the $100 credits and held a room deposit on my credit card. I also had to sign an indemnity form that I would not bringing any unregistered guests to the room.

Upon stepping into the room, we were greeted with a king sized bed, the view overlooking Tanjong Pagar port and a beautiful glass top work desk.

Furthermore, we would like to thank the staff of Westin for specially preparing this slice of cake for our anniversary. It was a nice gesture that I had used to surprise my wife. The cake was a Tahitian vanilla cheesecake, topped with strawberries. The burnt cheesecake is a popular dessert nowadays. This cake was left in the open for quite a few hours before we entered the room, but the taste of the cake was not affected.

Westin Hotel is located around the Central Business District, between Tanjong Pagar and Raffles Place. Plans for the Greater Southern Waterfront project – a sprawling 1,000ha development three times the size of Marina Bay – could kick off faster than expected. This huge project is to be built on land freed up as seen here, with most of the container operations being moved to Tuas already.

As part of Covid measures, there was anti-bacterial wipes and a note to state that all the furniture in the room has been thoroughly disinfected.

The TV was mounted on the wall and had a personal welcome. We were satisfied with the variety of TV channels. So if you are feeling lazy, staying in the room during your whole stay is possible while keeping occupied with the various movies or TV shows.

Furthermore, the bathtub in the toilet is a masterpiece. While there are two doors to the toilet, there is also some privacy as the bathtub is not in the middle of the room like some other hotels that I have been to. For the toilet bowl and shower, they are also separated by two glass doors, so it is compartmentalised and more user-friendly if more than one person needs to enter the bathroom.

Lastly, the swimming pool at level 35 has to be a must-visit during your stay. When I called concierge to arrange for a booking, she told me that all the slots are full but I can walk in. Sometimes guests book the pool slots but did not turn up. The pool offers you views over Singapore’s southern coast. Enjoy an invigorating swim in aqua blue waters before heading over to the large deck and settle into an upholstered chaise lounge or one of the submerged sunbeds. Large sun umbrellas and trees provide shade while tables and chairs let you socialize comfortably with family and friends. The weather was perfect on that day for a swim.

I shall review the restaurant Cook and Brew in another blog post.

We only stayed one night as the term has started and we did not have enough time to stay for the whole weekend. It was slightly rushed but we still enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend it. One of the perks of staying at Westin is that it is very quiet over the weekend, but certain cafes and restaurants around Raffles Place or Telok Ayer are within walking distance and still open.

How much did my stay at Westin Singapore cost? Since I enjoyed the 12.12 promotion package, which is $212 for a deluxe room with $100 dining credits used at Cook and Brew, which means that I only paid $112 for our stay.
