The second day of our trip, we still spent the day at disneyland. The theme park is quite small and after one morning, we have completed all the rides there. In the morning, we woke up around 8 to take some photos in the park surrounding our hotel. There were some vintage cars and a big ‘hollywood’ sign. In the backdrop was the sea and the mountains which make it a beautiful backdrop for taking photos. The pool was open, but no one was swimming because the weather was too chilly.
The park opened before 10am which was the official opening time. We queued up to take pictures with chip & dale. Then we went to adventureland to take the rides there, including the jungle cruise and we climbed up the treehouse. The english-speaking guide for the jungle cruise spoke english with a honkie accent, so it was quite hard for us to understand her. There were many figurine animals from elephants, crocodiles, snakes to spiders in the river as the cruise made its way down the river. From the top of the treehouse, we had a picturesque view of the environs.
Next, we went to tomorrowland to take the bizz lightyear and stitch rides that we missed out yesterday. There was a snaking queue at space mountain and autopia, so luckily we took those rides last night. The stitch show was quite interactive as stitch communicated with the audience and even managed to take snapshots of us and show it on the screen. We had a quick lunch at one of the cafes. then proceeded to watch the ‘let it snow’ parade happening on main street USA. It was a parade of flats featuring all the disney characters, but it was kinda boring and the music repetitive. Next, we watched the golden mickey’s musical which was sometime out of the box.
We left the park in the afternoon after having done some shopping at the disney shops where we bought some souvenirs and as usual, weijie bought the most as if he has never been to disneyland before. We then took the MTR to hong kong station which is the financial district of hong kong. I brought them shopping, but most of the shops were high end boutiques selling branded goods that were not my kind. We had a delicious dinner at MX cafe with a main course each and two sandwiches to share. All their meals were inclusive of a drink, so we had a total of 5 drinks.
In the evening, we went back to the park again because weijie wanted to buy more stuff, some mickey hairband. We could not see the fireworks again because we had to leave early for the tour bus to take us to our next hotel in kowloon. We reached kimberly hotel around 11, then checked in and had a good night’s rest.
