Holey Moley is a nightlife concept brought over from Australia. It is a mini golf course and bar that turns traditional putt putt into a multi-sensory labyrinth of unique holes that’ll keep you on your toes across the craziest round of golf you’ve ever played. And with drinks, cocktails and tunes on offer at the full service bar, The Caddyshack bar will take care of all your off-the-green needs. It is Singapore’s best mini golf course. Par none.

Me and my friends visited Holey Moley on a Friday evening. Surprisingly, it was not that crowded. The place is huge, with a 9-hole golf course on the ground floor and several tables.

Since we were hungry, we ordered food first. We also made an advanced reservation for our game of mini golf at 9pm. Happy hour drinks were going at $8 a pint all night long till closing for the Hahn Superdry.

For food, we had wanted to order the $88 platter for sharing, but it seemed like too much food. There was also a 1 metre-long Mega Pizza ($55) that was enticing, but the waiter advised us against ordering it as most likely we would not be able to finish it. Thus we ordered the regular pizza aptly named Motherclucker ($21) as it has chicken with peri peri sauce. We also ordered two burgers – Holey Cheezus Burger ($25) and Hole in One Burger ($25), both of which contain beef.

In terms of food, it was alright and not much to rave about. We preferred the burger because the meat of pulled beef was tender, but the cheese sauce that came with the Holey Cheesus burger was disappointing. The pizza was just enough for the 4 of us, and while the crust was not the thin Italian wood-baked type, it had a crunchy biscuit texture that we liked.

After a slow and relaxing dinner, we went over to the counter to pick up our equipment and scorecard for the game. The rules of the game were stated on the scorecard and there was also a staff to explain to us the rules. Each person is only given 6 moves at each station, if they do not clear it, they have to move on so as not to hold up the other players behind.

The first station is the Yellow Brick Green. We had to hit up a slope which then lands on the second row, then hit the ball through the legs of the tin man to score.

Next up, is the Crappy Gilmore. It is the scary-looking clown which is apt for Halloween on the day we had visited. To get a hole-in-one, you have to hit the ball up the tongue and it will land nicely into the hole.

Station 3 is Ferris Wheeler’s Day off, which my ball got stuck in the Ferris wheel and I had to restart my putting. Next, is Did Someone Say Dinner? which features an upside down hawker centre to create that illusion effect.

Over at Bedrock and Roll, it shows a cartoon mural of Flintstone and a series of bones that we have to navigate the ball through in order to score the goal. Be careful not to get the ball stuck under the car, if not it will be even more challenging.

Last but not least, is the Monopoly version of Do Not Pass Go. The answer may not seem simple at first, but most people would end up in jail first then putt the ball out of the jail through an opening into the hole. Otherwise, you can also try the alternative method which is to bypass the metal iron at the starting move.

We do recommend visited this place for a fun night out with friends. Every inch of this place is Insta-worthy, from the punny neon signs to each of the holes. With upbeat music and an atmosphere of nostalgia, you will be thrilled to do something totally different with your night out!

The golfing rates at Holey Moley are reasonable, starting from just $20/person for a 9-hole session. Of course, the longer your session, the cheaper the session; A 18-hole session costs $38/person, while a 27-hole one costs $50/person. We saw some people keep the ball and played for extra rounds. I guess the staff closed one eye to this antic as the place was not crowded. However, note that by the time you reach Hole 9, the ball would be taken back by the machine, so you would need to purchase additional rounds if you wish to continue playing.

Holey Moley is child-friendly too! Unfortunately, no minors (Under 18) are allowed in after 8pm due to the liquor license requirements as mandated by the government.
