How to get cheap tickets to Disneyland Paris

When I was doing research for Disneyland tickets, I came across this UK website called Picniq. They sold the tickets at a lower price compared to the official Disneyland website. Is this a scam? After looking through Trustpilot and TripAdvisor for online reviews, I was relieved to find that Picniq is indeed a legit website with good deals.

On the official Disneyland website, tickets were going for €49 = S$76 per adult, while the Picniq website is selling it at £41 = S$71 per adult, which is savings of $5 per person. It is also more worth it with Picniq because it includes a £5 voucher, 10% off shopping voucher, 15% food voucher at Planet Hollywood and Earl of Sandwich. The ticket bought from the Disneyland website is only good for the entrance fee.

Since we were in Paris and I had visited Disneyland Paris many years ago, we decided to go for the Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney Studios – 2 parks in one day pass. I paid £64 = S$110 per person, while buying these two park tickets from the Disneyland website would have cost €77 = S$120, so you can save $10.

Disneyland Paris has two spectacular parks to explore: Disneyland Park ‐ where Disney Characters of your imagination come to life, and Walt Disney Studios Park where the magic of Disney and cinema meet in the middle, allowing you to experience something extraordinary!

At Disneyland Park, fairytales take flight across 5 incredible lands filled with classic attractions, shows and street parades. Rub shoulders with swashbuckling pirates, zoom through time and space and look on in awe at the unforgettable firework and light displays over Sleeping Beauty Castle.

The entrance to Disneyland Paris. We went on a weekday during the last week of November and there were many young families with kids.
If you are lucky enough to stay at the Disneyland Hotel, you can catch the evening fireworks from the comfort of your room.
Since it was one more month to Christmas, there was a festive theme at Disneyland.

A truly fairytale castle, boasting soaring spires, ornate turrets, regal royal-blue rooftops, stained glass windows and tapestries, the 167-foot structure invokes both the magic and mystery of fictional palaces like the one seen in Disney’s animated classic Sleeping Beauty, as well as elements from real French castles and historic monuments.

Sleeping Beauty Castle was actually inspired by a German castle in Bavaria, called Neuschwanstein castle.
Exploring the inside of the Sleeping Beauty Castle, there are some giant books and beautiful stained glass windows. Scale the stone steps inside the Sleeping Beauty Castle and enjoy a retelling of this famous fairytale through lavishly illustrated books, rich tapestries and truly majestic stained glass windows.
Take the reins and embark on an enchanting ride on Sir Lancelot’s very own merry-go-round. This is a child-friendly ride.
At Alice’s Curious Labyrinth, wander through your own adventure in Wonderland, where a Cheshire Cat-sized smile awaits you around every corner.
Set sail on a whimsical world tour, as dolls from all over the globe sing and dance to the tune of ‘it’s a small world’. However, this ride was closed for maintenance during our visit.
Star Wars hyperspace mountain: It is an indoor roller coaster ride, a jaw-dropping experience fit for the most fervent followers of the Force. May the Force be with you.

Around 1.30pm, we saw people gathering at the sidewalk facing Main Street USA. We found out there was going to be a parade so we decided to stay put to watch the show before going for lunch.

Winnie the Pooh and friends
hello Piglet!

The parade brought back many wonderful childhood memories for me because I had grown up watching such cartoons, from Winnie the Pooh to Mickey Mouse. Nowadays, the kids do not know much about these childhood characters of ours as they are too engrossed in computer or handphone games.

The floats were beautifully decorated, with Disney characters waving to the spectators and it reminded me of the Chingay Parade in Singapore.

In the evening, I also took other rides such as Big Thunder Mountain before waiting for the fireworks spectacle. I had taken the Big Thunder Mountain ride in USA before and absolutely loved it. Even though some part of the roller coaster ride was outdoors, I did not feel cold because of my blood rushing through my body, thanks to the adrenaline rush.

In the evening, we were treated to a fireworks spectacle over Sleeping Beauty Castle. The facade of the castle was used as a projector screen for the moving video images as it showcased famous Disney shows such as Pocahontus, Beauty and the Beast, Frozen etc. The fireworks ended around 7.30pm and people started to make their way out of the park. Stay tuned to my upcoming post for more information about Walt Disney Studios.
