HACK IT is a term used to describe the action of cracking or smashing. The carpe diem sentiment of HACK IT exudes a “You Only Live Once (YOLO)” attitude of having fun and seizing the day with one’s favourite seafood, whenever and wherever. This is a virtual concept developed by Jumbo Group of restaurants.
Customers can choose from the signature saucy combos or customise their own! From the spiciness of chilli and pepper to the decadence of creamy butter, there is a wide selection for all. Even the appetisers and sides have an Asian flavour to them.

As dining out is associated with service charge, queues, and the need to travel to the restaurant. HACK IT offers a fuss free process, so you can get your hands and appetite ready to feast while they deliver the seafood packs straight to your doorstep.
We chose the timing between 7.30- 8pm for the delivery, and it arrived on the dot at 7.30pm. It was given in a paper bag, with the crab and seafood combo in a plastic bag with cable tie, the salad in a box and rice packed in a grease resistant wrapping paper, similar to how chicken rice is being wrapped.

With clear instructions given, we poured out the seafood. We did not want the table to be so messy, but you can pour it directly on the table cover provided. Of course, with the food layout, it makes a good photo opportunity. So take a snapshot of the food before eating.

We ordered the deluxe seafood pack ($108) which is suitable for 2-3 persons to share. It contains mud crab, mussels, clams, Boston lobster, prawns and pearl corn. Alternatively, you can also customise your own combo with the Hack it your way Seafood pack. The price would be calculated based on the ingredients that you order, so if you do not eat prawns, you can choose more of the other seafood.
The next step would be to choose your sauce. We had the chilli crab sauce which is a signature of Jumbo seafood. The other sauces available include creamy butter or ginger spring onion sauce for those who do not take spicy. There is also black pepper, mala or sweet and spicy tomato sauce.
The next step is to choose your sides. For the sides, we had garlic fried rice, which is our favourite carbs of the day. The fragrant jasmine white rice was fried with crispy garlic and spring onions. The other sides are the “man tou” breadsticks with chilli crab sauce and spam fries. The breadsticks were too dry and felt like we were having biscuits. It could not soak up much of the chilli crab dip as well.
Lastly, if you are craving for more crab or lobster or other stuff, you can choose to add on to your seafood pack based on the ala carte price. They have three types of crabs to choose from, the mud crab, dungeness crab or Alaskan crab, with the last one being the most expensive.
Currently, Hack It offers free delivery for orders above $50. It is easy to hit this minimum order as long as you order any of the seafood packs. Hack It is a cool concept, where you can enjoy your seafood anywhere, be it a picnic or a family dinner at home. Their choice of ingredients is fresh enough and it is a hearty meal, with carbs and seafood cooked in yummy sauce.
