Prive Group has several restaurants spread out around Singapore, from Clarke Quay to Orchard to CHIJMES. Prive Group is committed to delivering personable and friendly dining experience for every guest that walks through their door. We had originally planned to eat something else, but that was fully booked, so we settled for Prive instead. There was no queue and plenty of seats inside the restaurant on a Friday evening.

We have came to Prive CQ a few times before, mainly for the bar vibes and happy hour. From weekend brunch to daily hearty mains and decadent desserts, Privé Clarke Quay satisfies at any time of the day or night. Diners can look forward to perennial favorites including Forest Mushroom Soup, Meter Long Stone-Baked Pizzas, Fish & Chips, Classic Wagyu Beef Burger, Impossible Meat Spaghetti and Sticky Date Pudding. Tourists will also be delighted with the unique Asian offerings such as Chicken Satay, Heura Hainanese Chicken Rice & Traditional Chicken Curry. For those stricken with the late-night munchies, such as Mini Sliders or Breaded Crab Cakes, are perfect for staving off those hunger pangs.

We started off with happy hour drinks, one Guiness stout and one Archipelago Bohemian lager. The Belgian wit beer that we wanted was not available on that day. It was a thirst quencher and we have never felt so liberated after a long week at work. $7 for a half pint and $13 for a full pint. I would not call these happy hour prices because other places probably offer better deals.

For appetisers, we had crab cakes because the missus craved for it. The Breaded Crab Cakes ($12) were served with dill mayonnaise sauce and a slice of burnt lemon. I don’t usually order crab cakes because it would be deep fried and soaked in oil, but this batter was lightly fried and I could taste the crabmeat in the patty.

Next up was the main course, we had the Spicy Meat Lover ($20) for a 10″ pizza which is like a personal pizza, enough to feed one. It contains chorizo, salami, chilli, tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. The pizza was underwhelming because the crust was not crispy, other than the spicy chorizo the other ingredients did not taste so fresh.

For me, I had the Pan Roasted Chilli and Lime Salmon ($25). Even though I know how to cook salmon at home, I had too much meat recently and decided to have fish instead. The spicy and tangy taste of the sauce paired well with the slice of salmon. The apricot-almond couscous which served as the carbohydrates was delicious, plus the semi-cooked broccoli with a crunchy taste. I enjoyed my main course a lot.

After finishing our dinner, the crowd started to thicken in the restaurant. Since all live band performances were cancelled due to covid restrictions, and there was nothing much for us to hang around, we left the restaurant and went for a leisurely stroll along Clarke Quay and the Singapore River.
