Au Croissant, was founded and set up in 2019. The French have been known to produce the best and highest quality bread, inspiring the founders to make Au Croissant a French inspired bakery. It has three outlets in Singapore, at Waterway Point, Leisure Park Kallang and Aperia Mall.
After our run today, we decided to treat ourselves to a nice breakfast. We went to Leisure Park Kallang which is quieter and has fewer pedestrian traffic as compared to Kallang Wave Mall.
Surprisingly, there was quite a sizeable crowd over at Au Croissant, and we were lucky to be able to find a table.
When I tried to place my order for a ham and egg brioche which was on the breakfast menu, the cashier seemed very clueless as she can’t find it on her screen. In the end, I had to settle for an egg mayo croissant. I guess why not try the croissants, since this cafe is named after it. The egg mayo was nice, for someone like me who does not like mayo on its own. The croissant was fresh and had flaky bits of pastry that crumbled with every mouthful. The croissants here are freshly made and baked daily. Did I also mention that the cutlery at this cafe is so aesthetically pleasing, with the gold rimmed plates, knife and fork?
For drinks, I also ordered a flat white to accompany my meal. Pretty standard about the coffee.
As for my friend, he had spaghetti bolognese, mushroom soup (add on $2) and a cup of iced passionfruit chamomile tea. The mushroom soup was nice, but of course cannot be compared to restaurant standard where you can even taste the bits of mushroom.
We found the portion of spaghetti to be small, but the sauce was tasty. The iced drink was refreshing and especially since we had completed a long run, it was a good thirst quencher without being too sweet.
Overall, Au Croissant serves authentic French breads and pastries. Their breakfast menu is quite limited, but they do have the standard cafe items such as Eggs Benedict, egg and ham brioche, croffles (croissant x waffle) etc. If not, you can also go for the freshly baked items in the display shelves. While it lacks the hype of bigger brands such as Paris Baguette, but the service at the cozy cafe , as well as the delicious bakery items would definitely entice customers to return here again.
