5 the moments
Address: 73 Tg Pagar Rd, Singapore 088494

After dinner at Sanji, we decided to go for desserts. Along Tanjong Pagar road, there were several cafes, we walked in to an ice cream cafe (forgot the name, it’s just before Fluffy dessert) to try their ice cream, but it was disappointing and expensive so we walked out.
Finally, we saw 5themoments across the road and thought it seemed like a nice place. True enough, we tried their ice cream and it was good. There was a variety of flavours such as Earl Grey, dark chocolate, new york cheesecake, Sabai Sabai (Thai iced milk tea), green tea etc. We settled on waffles with two scoops of ice cream – Earl Grey which had a strong tea taste and salted butter caramel which had the right blend of saltiness and sweetness. Total cost was $15.40 ($10.90 for the waffles which comes with one scoop of ice cream and an additional scoop of ice cream at $4.50). The usual price for a scoop of ice cream (either in a cone of cup) is $4.90.
The waffles were freshly made and smelt good. We liked the nice presentation of the dish, but the chocolate sauce and honey drizzled over the waffles made it a tad too sweet. Good for those with a sweet tooth, but maybe next time we will ask them to put the sauce sparingly. The ice cream flavours were really good because they were rich and creamy, yet not too sweet. It was a wonderful dessert to end off our Japanese meal and I had a good catchup with my friends.
