It is open everyday except on Tuesdays.

An ice cream bar that serves chef-made ice-cream made from fresh ingredients using modern cooking techniques. A unique frozen dessert experience that never fails to tantalise your taste buds. Even the name FATCAT itself seems like it is screaming out to you for your attention.

We visited on a weekday afternoon, so the cafe was not too crowded, except for a few students from nearby schools who had come here to enjoy their post-exam ice cream treat.

FATCAT has a wide range of ice cream flavours. I wish I could try them all, but that would have to wait for another time. This is their range of ice creams flavors, with some classic flavors while others, having a unique twist to them such as that of the butterbeer which I loved. The subtle taste of alcohol within the smooth, creamy ice cream.

At the time of visit, they were also promoting their cold brew coffee. Since I wasn’t into cold brew,  I did not order it.

One thing that made FATCAT stood out among the other ice cream cafes is how beautiful their plating is. The ice cream is served on neat teak plates and arranged in such a manner that any newbie Instagrammer can also take nice shots of the food.

FATCAT had just introduced the charcoal bonanza series, they had charcoal waffles and we ordered two scoops of ice cream to go with the freshly baked waffle. The charcoal waffles are served with the chef-made salted egg yolk sauce by the side, which definitely complemented the waffle. We had Earl Grey Lavender which is their signature flavour and also a scoop of the classic Vanilla which definitely can’t go wrong. The waffle was crispy and the light flavour of the ice cream matched the intensity of the waffle, delivering hints of sweetness and crunch with every bite.

For the other waffle, it was butterbeer and strawberry cheesecake. The butterbeer was a hit because it was rich and creamy, and I could imagine walking down Diagon Alley with every taste of this ice cream.

To sum up, FATCAT ice cream is one to die for because of the premium quality ingredients that they use. So far in the east side, I would concur that they are the best ice cream bar to satisfy my ice cream cravings. With its proximity to schools and Bedok interchange, it makes a good place to hang out with friends or colleagues. Weekends are packed so do go there early.

As the saying goes, “Life is uncertain, so eat desserts first”. Can’t help but agree!
